Blackberry dominated the premium business / enterprise smartphone market in the late 90s and much of the 2000s, with their awesome hardware keyboards, industrial design, and powerful business applications. Like Nokia, however, Blackberry lost mainstream relevance when they stuck stubbornly to their difficult to use operating system while the rest of the world moved to Android and iOS. It is only recently that they’ve started their way into Android smartphones, with the Blackberry Priv that is set to launch in late 2015.
Still, the company has its fans. A limited but passionate set of people still enjoy the Blackberry keyboard, and general hardware design. For the mid-range, Blackberry makes some really classy phones though they are difficult to recommend when competitor phones can do so much more and do it better!
